Cairns – the Great Barrier Reef

It was a 3 hour boat ride to a pontoon on the reef. I sat up top but it was very windy and a bit rough. The pontoon had a lot of attractions but those who swam/snorkelled made best use of the trip – but I can’t swim well (dog paddle only) so I didn’t have a dip.

Went on a semi-submersible to see the coral and fish. I was sat at the front or was it the back of the semi-sub, sat by this German lady. When a fish came alongon her side she tapped me on the shoulder to let me, so I did the same when a fish came on my side. At the end of the trip there was a lot of fish, so I hung back to take more photos - so did the Germany lady.
She tapped me on the shoulder another fish, then again, another fish. Then another tap followed by another tap or two. More fish? No – I was sat on her skirt and she could not get up! (that ploy didn’t work)

A good day out.
