Raffles and Rain

Singapore morning - now a trip around Raffles – very nice and posh. Had a Singapore Sling in the Long Room – have to get my local to stock up on the ingredients (or should I stick to Tiger beer?)

This afternoon somebody who who shall remain nameless (that’s Barbara) suggested we had a boat trip. We were on the boat and it rained and rained, tropical like complete with thunder! The boat had a sort of a roof bot no sides,  I was sat on the side. The water poured in I was soaked, my camera was in aplastic bag. The boat stopped under a bridge to shelter but most of the time the drains from the bridge was down my side of the boat. In the end we carried on so did the rain. We finally completed the boat trip and we were all very wet, some more than others (I was one of the more) – and it was still pouring down!
Could go anywhere else so the Tiger (bar) came to the rescue. The rain eventually stopped.
Guess what we are doing tonight = a Chinese night out including another boat ride, hope it’s dry(well on the outside)

Australian Industrial Relations Part 2

Well it looks like Qantas will be working fairly normal by our Singapore departure with fair wind on our side. We leave Singapore at 8:45 on Wednesday 2 November (Singapore is 8 hours ahead of the UK) – with luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holiday Break - Happy Birth Day

My good friends Mel and Jason have just had their first born.
Congratulations to you both

I have been fortunate to obtain the first photographs of their new addition, Madison Eva:

Singapore

Singapore a modern city full of skyscrapers but I think visible history. It seems a lot of are designed to be strange shapes e.g. three towers with a boat on top – the boat being a swimming pool! Still there are plenty of bars and restaurants to frequent – don’t know if we will manage to visit them all.
Singapore’s ‘Eye’, the Singapore Flyer gave magnificent views over the harbour and the Singapore skyline.
